Purpose Statement: As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.
All women of First Lutheran are considered to be part of FLCW. The board meets monthly and FLCW is active in the Prairie Rivers WELCA and attends the annual WELCA Synodical Meeting.
Locally FLCW is involved in a variety of activities including monthly Bible studies, the Wednesday night meal for the education program, serving for funerals, fundraising for First Lutheran Post-Secondary Education Scholarship, reaching out to our less-mobile members, collecting for and assembling personal care kits, baby care kits, fabric kits, and school kits. On Tuesday mornings a group meets to quilt. We welcome women to join us in our endeavors.
